Wilkes Family Cemetery - Charlie Hope

| Notes: | Located on Grandy Rd. (Route 644) near Charlie Hope, it is surrounded by a brick wall, with no entrance gate. The transcription of this cemetery was published as “Wilkes Burial Ground - 'Charlie's Hope,' Brunswick County, Virginia,” The Virginia Genealogist, Vol. 15, pp. 135-36 (1971). When Linda Lepow transcribed the cemetery 30 years later, she omitted the stones for Burwell Wilkes and his wife, Elizabeth Gunn, perhaps suggesting they are no longer there. |
