Located approx. 200 yd. east of Robinson Ferry Rd. (Route 644) and approx 200 yd. north of Gasburg Rd. (Route 626). It is approx. 40 ft x 30 ft, covered with concrete, and enclosed with a 4 ft high heavy iron fence.

The above inscription is on a marble monument approx. 5 ft tall. The grave itself is covered with a large, flat, stone slab which contains a bronze plaque that is inscribed with the following: Robert Simmons Powell M.D./1834 - 1910/Christian Patriot, Leading Citizen/Graduate University of Virginia/1857/Owner of Woodview Plantation/Combat Office and Surgeon/Confederate States Army/Twenty-First Virginia Infantry/Through his indomitable energy/Courage and Wisdom/Preserver of Society/in Reconstruction/ANIMA IN AMICIS UNA. The Latin phrase means “there is one mind among friends.”

Her grave is also covered with a large, flat stone slab with a bronze plaque that is inscribed with the following: Ellen Virginia Powell/1848 - 1931/Wife of/Robert Simmons Powell/Daughter of/Colonel Daniel Huff/and/Priscille Steed Huff/A beautiful and gracious lady/whose love, patience, courage/and true Christian character/left a lasting cultural imprint/on her community. Ellen Huff, age 2, was residing in her parents household in 1850, Family 258.
